Goodbye Elena: Nina Dobrev officially leaving The Vampire Diaries

It's official! And from the horses mouth too! Nina Dobrev has announced that season six, the current running season, of The CW hit television show, The Vampire Diaries will continue without her. The show was given the green light for season seven earlier in the season and it seems the series is going all steam ahed without the beautiful Dobrev.

Mere hours ago Dobrev posted a picture of herself along with executive producer, Julie Plec, on Instagram stating:

"I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party. I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be a human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger, I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and theres still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family."

Rumours have spread like wildfire through the internet this morning with different interpretations at to what this news means to The Vampire Diaries, however the only facts that we have at the moment is that Dobrev is leaving, Micheal Trevino, who plays Mystic Falls' beloved and hottest werewolf Tyler Lockwood, will be leaving with his co-star. Finally, that Plec will change the focus of the show from Elena, to the Salvatore siblings.

It feels like that moment when Sarah Michelle Gellar wouldn't renew Buffy for an eighth season all over again. Delena fans certainly won't be happy to hear this news.

Yet, now Julie Plec, the series' writer and executive producer can steer the show in any direction she feels necessary. This could potentially open up thousands of potential storylines, that may have been otherwise dismissed. It's really quite exciting!

Nina Dobrev has given the successful supernatural show six strong years, having played an abundance of characters, died several times, become a vampire, lost her humanity, found it again, burnt down her house, and seen far too many people she cared about die. Elena clearly deserves a break from Mystic Falls' run of supernatural bad luck and I'm sure Dobrev could do with a few weeks off after all that!

In less than twenty four hours we've lost two of the hottest stars and characters from The Vampire Diaries. So with that we wait for the season six finale to hit in May, and wish both Nina Dobrev and Micheal Trevino farewell.

American Horror Story: Freak Show - 'Fallen Angel' Trailer

American Horror Story has successfully terrorfyied us for three consecutive years now and with the latest eerie trailer were presuming this will be the case for the fourth season.

Jessica Lange's (Constance, Sister Jude and Fiona Good) final season on the show will give, us for the last time, her iconic matriarchal role before she leaves Murphy and the cast behind. Freak Show will, like its predecessors, have a completely new and original theme and this season is The Carnival or as it was called in earlier years 'The Freak Show'.

Very little is known about this season- as many of you who follow American Horror Story (AHS) know that Ryan Murphy likes to keep his plans for this show very close to heart. But what we do know is that Lange's final character will speak with a German accent. There are a few other speculations however this is the only one that has been verified by Murphy himself.

So what do you think of the trailer? Angelic? Innocence? The act is called 'The Fallen Angel', does this represent Satin? What is this act meant to be? When it come to AHS we are always left with more questions than answers. So please comment with your ideas or theories!

American Horror Story: Freak Show is due to air in October this year on FX.

Anthony Steward Head is still up for Buffy The Vampire Slayer Spinoff 'Ripper'

For years there has been talk and meetings, pitches and ideas for a spinoff show from Buffy The Vampire Slayer focusing on everyone's favourite watcher Rupert Giles (Head). Of course our prayers weren't answered and the show never became reality like 'Angel' did, however all hope isn't lost.

Dracula Untold - The First trailer released

After very little publicity this film has hidden under the radar. An innovative look at Vlad The Impaler (portrayed by Luke Evans), and his desperation to save his people and family; driving him to the darkness of the vampire. This film is a gothic reinvention mixed with a historical background - however the validity the films historical context is questionable. The film itself looks to be a great interpretation of Dracula looking for 'sympathy for the devil' which this two minute clip has easily managed. With the current gothic trend being dark characters and their pure intentions before corruption, this film is set to make us question everything literature, history and society told us about Dracula.

Finally a Dracula adaptation that involves, war, family, honour and of course supernatural elements; enriching mythology of the vampire and Dracula himself. This film could be set to be a huge blockbuster and success- providing it delivers. This type of adaptation has never been done before and I am very eager to see just how well the film does at the box office, however all we can do is wait!

Dracula Untold will be released in cinemas October 2014, due to delays.
Music by Lorde: Everybody wants to rule the World.

Top 10 Mortal Kombat Characters

With the release of the trailer for the upcoming game Mortal Kombat X this week, I thought I would keep with the theme of Mortal Kombat (and of course ten, X). I have been a fan of the Mortal Kombat series since I remember, having been heavily influenced by a grand father who loved the game (and ignored the age restrictions, for which I'm thankful- in his defence MK1 graphics really weren't brutal or intimidating at all).

Throughout the years the story lines and Kombatants from the Mortal Kombat universe have adapted and become intricate detailed and fascinating tales! With that in mind I thought it would be nice to tell you all of my personal favourite characters from the Mortal Kombat universe. Majority of people always vote for Sub-Zero or Scorpion but many other huge fans, like myself, know that there are a lot more interesting and multi-dimensional characters than just the iconic and well known 'marketing material' characters. Thus I have given you my favourite ten characters and information about them. Each is unique and represents different elements and qualities that are apparent in the highly successful gaming franchise.

5 Reasons why we Love Cordelia Chase

Cordelia Chase, portrayed by Charisma Carpenter, is a fictional character from the Buffyverse. Cordillera was introduced as the typical 'mean girl' in the very first episode, and transformed into a pivotal character for the first three seasons, before taking her trademarked witt to the Buffy spin off Angel for another four seasons. Over her time in the Buffyverse Cordillia won the hearts of fans and critics alike, and here are some reasons why we just couldn't get enough...
